About me

I am an experienced researcher possessing a demonstrated history of working in academic, industrial, and corporate environments. I am currently pursuing my doctoral research exploring microstructural evolution during solid-state processing for property enhancement at UNT Denton, Texas, USA.

I have pursued my master's in the field of Materials Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar. I earned my undergraduate degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering, with a certified minor in Computer Science and Engineering. My experiential stints at Atlas Copco and Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles (Trucks division) in the past have aided my skills in management.

With an eye for detail, a strong background across diverse engineering fields, and having acquired cross-functional skills, I have earned appreciable commendations. I’m confident in the creative solutions I bring to the table. I believe in bringing innovation to the society we live in and have put my goal towards realizing that.

The research areas I have previously worked on are Friction Stir Welding and Processing, Composites (metals and polymers), Materials Characterization, Corrosion, Tribology, Mechanical Design and fabrication, and Finite Element Analysis. I am proficient in AutoCAD, Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Solid Works, Industrial Engineering, and office application suites.

Friction Stir Welding, Mechanical Testing, Electron microscopy, XRD, FTIR, TGA, Wear Testing, Corrosion.

Zhi-Hong International Summer School,
Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Minhang Campus,
Shanghai, China.

I was invited to attend the ZH-ISS 2019 themed on 'Advanced Metallic Materials.' I was awarded the Zhi-Hong Type A scholarship to participate in the summer school. Presented a poster on dissimilar materials joining. My group was awarded the second prize for presentation on 'Processing of Advanced Metals.' Renowned faculty from across the world discussed a broad range of topics like bio-inspired materials design, high-temperature steels, advanced biocompatible metals, thin metal films, fatigue and deformation of lightweight metals, age hardenable lightweight alloys, grain boundary engineering, surface engineering, etc. Also had an opportunity to visit state of the art SSRF (Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility), Volkswagen Plant and Medical 3D Printing Innovation Research Center.

M.Tech,Materials Science and Engg.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
Gandhinagar, India

Motivation to pursue an advanced degree in materials sciences came during my tenure as Design Engineer at Atlas Copco. For the first time, I could ponder over the various materials used in different components. It was nothing more than fascinating to see the same part with identical dimensions being manufactured using different materials to meet specific requirements.

During my master's degree, I chose to work with Prof. Amit Arora, who is an expert in Friction-Stir Technology. The original motivation to see different materials in action in a single component led to conduct research on dissimilar joining and surface composite processing.

I defended my thesis titled "Fabrication, Characterization and Particle Distribution Analysis of Al 1050-B4C Friction Stir Surface Composite" in June 2019.

B.Tech,Mechanical Engineering
Walchand College of Engineering (WCE)

Sangli. Maharashtra, India.

B.Tech in Mechanical engineering not only gave me the power to improve but to re-imagine things. Manufacturing Processes and Machine Design were my favourite topics of interest. My project "Design and Development of Step Climbing Wheelchair" was a challenging problem to solve. It developed and innovative mindset and  developed an ability to question the design to make it perfect.

Minor in Compter Science and Engg.
Walchand College of Engineering

Sangli Maharashtra, India.

I was introduced to various courses related to data structure and programming languages. I learnt about computer architecture and operating systems. It gave me an opportunity to learn programming and I pursued a mini project on "Integrated Programming of Computational Methods." It helped me build an aptitude for coding and simulations.
